I think that I am the same way. I will likely always live with triggers having PTSD or not, I'm hoping that my PTSD doesn't come back, I love that it's gone.

I think it's something alot of us likely will have to deal with forever, I hope that one day they will go away, but I don't think so.

The trauma was a big part my life as well considering it took me a very long time to open up and talk about it, a couple years even then I was always belittleing it saying that it wasn't that bad, but it was because it affected me badly and so forth. It didn't help that after the ex there were people harrassing me, and assaulting me for years after the fact 9 people all together like I said from 1996-2001... Thank god I found the guy i'm with now, since then people hurting me has stopped, hope it stays that way.

I have gotten triggers with my now BF of 3 years, but my psychiatrist just told me to remind myself where I am, who i'm with. She also told me for one specific trigger to keep letting my BF touching me on the back of the neck so the trigger will be no more. I haven't done that yet, but it is better. That was a major trigger for me aways because my ex always use to grab the back of my neck when he was angry and so forth...

Not a fun feeling.
