People spend money on all sorts of things others would not. That I spend money to pay someone to stay back is no odder to me.
I always knew this was the reason SD liked cats. Maybe tolerance of their interest in being pet is a bit of a development. I, on the other hand, love them for their interest in getting pet. But I can sometimes appreciate their disinterest as well. When they're willing to get off my arms while I type, for example.
