Re: Having a horrible time focusing
Hi, I have the same problem. I was diagnosed with bipolar in January, before that I was taking anti-depressants. With my symptoms I struggled to get through the past two years of uni...but I got through them just feeling less dumb then I feel now. Eversince I have been on my combo- meds it is as if I am suffering from cognitive impairment. My doctor shrugged it off saying it's part off the disorder and that was his final answer...
How can that be, I refuse to take that as a final answer...I am in my final year studying to become a teacher so far it has been torture. I don't know if Iam going to make it...and if I do what kind of teacher am I going to be who can't think straight...I am so forgetful, simple things I find difficult.
I have read that this is mostly due to the meds, I have been doing alot of reading on the topic since my doctor says very little. He only prescribes and tells me with all drugs there are side effects...okay
Anyway since my combo-meds I have also been audio hallucinating and having racing thoughts which is also a form of mania...never had this prier.
So yes the symptoms coupled with the drugs can mess you up...I am trying to figure out if it was really that bad before the drugs because it is pretty hectic now.
Goodluck to you
