Ok.....Last week was the tops of all my aggrivations. It was too hot for me to take my dogs in the car.....so I left the gate across the top stairs.....but they pushed their way through & both Leo & Tawny were down at the door when I got home......I had a lot going on that night & it wasn't until late the next morning that I noticed that the remaining d-con from my winter demousing my house was ALL gone.

The problem.....neither dog looked sick.....couldn't tell which dog if either got into it or weather the field mice were back in with all the fields being mowed now.......I had plans that took me away from home all afternoon after I realized that this could be a serious problem......

Ended up calling the vet the next morning & taking BOTH in to have bloodwork done......as it effects the liver & kidneys & causes the blood to NOT clot.....& this was about 1 1/2 days later.

My thinking was to have Leo's blood tested first as I just finished paying for his last vet bill when he OD'ed on semi-sweet chocolate chips & had to be treated with charcoal.....so obviously HE would be my first suspect.......however nothing showed up in his blood....so we tested Tawny & sure enough.....she was the culprit that got into it.....my little angel dog was not such an angel this time.......so for the next month....it's vitimin K1 pills every 12 hours.....& another recheck in 2 weeks to see how she's doing along with constant monitoring for any internal bleeding that might show up.

First pill I gave her went down.....the second one....I found a few hours later laying on the floor.....grrrrrrr.

Dogs can get into more crap...they are just like some kids & worse than others........& both of these guys love to get themselves into trouble & of course....cost me vet bills to the max.
