Agree with the above poster. Actually, many joint surgeries are unsuccessful in patients because they do not strictly adhere to the restrictions for the given amount of time for recovery. It's even worse with TMJs because the joint is so complex and hard to restrict that the outcome can be disastrous if not properly rehabbed post surgery.
