Yes, it can sound like fantasy, but there are many documented cases of persons under hypnosis and young children who recall snippets of past lives, which are later verified through public records, gravestones, ancestral records, etc.
I actually think it's more intriguing to ponder what a soul or spirit actually does BETWEEN lives. We certainly don't float around on a puffy little cloud playing a harp, or whatever. Researchers hadn't paid much attention to this subject until Dr Michael Newton ( founder of the Newton Institute ) developed a protocol for accessing the superconscience mind. It is the gateway to the spirit world and our souls. I recommend his book "Journey of Souls" and a follow-up book, "Destiny of Souls". There are also a number of YouTube videos of interviews....search for Michael Newton.
