brown rice, chicken neck bones (they don't splinter into the food) canned green beans, tomatoes and dice some potatoes. i crush a few calcium tablets and add them (advice of vet) and i throw in some pasta (whole wheat)......it turns out to be very inexpensive if you cook a big pot of it. and you KNOW that it's healthy then. green peas are also good. i also sometimes use a can of jack mackerel fish. it's so easy and my dogs do not get sick. the only things that have happened to my dogs in 15 years were outside caused things. fayeroe was stabbed by burglars and lita ate a bone that a neighbor gave her....without me knowing it........remove all bones from the cooked food. you're putting them in there for the calcium to leech out......
i free portions of it. it stays fresher. if you can get gizzards that you don't suspect are full of chemicals, those are excellent.
