I have what is sometimes severe sensory overstimulation problems when even the slightest thing can set me off.

My T recommended I invest in noise canceling headphones, and I've had a pair now for about 6 months or so, and they have been an absolute lifesaver!! I can put them on and just have the white noise, or I can listen to music, depending on what I need. Mine are Audio Technia brand and only cost $100 (super cheap for noise canceling headphones) and they work super well. I bring them with me pretty much everywhere because you never know when you might need them. Maybe give that a try?
