Yesterday, I went to the bank to get some $ and was told I was overdrawn.
I had made an online payment, and it had been drawn on the wrong checking account. Now, I can't prove that the credit card company screwed up, but I thought I had been careful to get it right. I did a lot of running around to get the cash to the bank to cover it, and they waives the overdraft fee when I requested it, but it gave me a huge headache.
Today, I went to do a phone payment to my mortgage and discovered the last check I mailed never got there! Now I know this is [b]not my fault[/i] because I mailed another bill at the same time, and that cleared just fine!
So now I have to beg the mortgage company to waive the late charge and not make a mark against my credit rating, and I have to stew until Monday to do that.
To top it all off, I discovered that my brother had paid for 6 months use of XM satellite radio, but the card wasn't visible in the box, and I figured I couldn't afford it, so I was going to send it back and let months pass, and I feel like a jerk because I said I was sending the gift back to his daughter, my neice, because I couldn't afford the subscription. They must think I'm really a jerk. To top it all off, my bro and I had a huge fight in 2003 and do not keep in touch, so this was a kind of peace offering from him that he may be thinking I threw back in his face.
I wish I had an income I could count on; I would just have a lot of things paid automatically so that this doesn't happen.
