Oh, I know that catch-22 very well. I know I need to be engaged/do activities to feel better, but I feel so depressed and anxious I'm not motivated to do anything.
First off, congrats on your MSW and job! Those are big accomplishments for anyone, and are even more so for someone who struggles with the issues you do.
This may sound silly, but have you thought of joining some sort of club/social group? When I lacked motivation or the desire to socialize, I joined a group at my church and it forced me to fulfill social and other obligations. It also got me interested in a new cause (social justice), which isn't the same as a competency, but I still get enjoyment out of it.
Anyway, there is totally hope for you. I can tell just by the way you are talking and recognizing what is happening with yourself that you have it in you to do great things and FEEL great things! Hang in there.
