Hi Sky. Thanks for clarifying your point of view. I just have a question, though. Are you saying that when someone (like me) posts what they think or believe, it's confusing? I don't think multiple points of view are confusing. I think they're refreshing and it gives people something to consider.
I don't know what form Skittles' faith takes. She may not share all of your beliefs, so I was trying to be supportive in offering my own opinion. I don't expect everyone (or anyone) to agree with me. I'm not trying to convert anyone to my way of thinking and believing. I just think it's a good thing to express what's in our hearts -- all of our hearts.
I don't think the thread has gone off track just because people here have different beliefs. I see many people trying to be supportive in their own way and, IMO, that's a good thing. I thought the desired results were to answer Skittles' question... and all any of us can do in answering that question is to share what we think and believe in regard to her situation. It's inevitable that we will each answer her question in our own way. We're all individuals and some of us have different beliefs.
You mentioned that there is a "difference in the type of support for one of faith." I consider myself "one of faith" but the type of support you might offer to me probably wouldn't seem supportive to me because your faith is different from mine... and you probably wouldn't find any support in my faith because your own beliefs are very strong. You have made it clear what you believe, and I fully admire and respect that. When someone I don't know much about posts in this forum, though, I don't want to make assumptions about their faith. That's the beauty of a forum like this where many points of view are expressed. There's a good chance that at least one of the many points of view will be helpful for the person seeking clarity and/or comfort.
So, I'm not trying to rock the boat by expressing a different point of view. I was just sharing what was in my heart and hoping it would be helpful to Skittles. I think that's what we were all doing and I think there's room for all of us here.
Cheers to you, Sky. I value your passion and willingness to share, and it's clear to me that you care deeply about your faith.
