Rheumatoid arthritis is your own immune system attacking your joints and the lining of your bone, causing pain/inflammation. Osteo is the wearing down of the cartilage between bones so the bones (in late stage) end up rubbing against each other, causing pain and inflammation. Osteo generally affects on the joints involved, ra involves most joints in your body as well as your overall being.
