Well, the time has come. I just called the vet to schedule an appointment for tomorrow to have both Al and Callie put down.
Al can no longer stand on his own. I lift his backend so he can stand and he staggers a few steps and falls down. This morning I had to coax him to eat. It's time.
I keep waffling about Callie, but everyone around me says I should put her down. The cancer has eaten all the sking from the left side of her face and there is a huge swelling on the left side of her head. The cancer has begun to spread arcoss her nose to the right side of her face also. She keeps trying to sneak out the front door, not something she usually does. I think she's trying to sneak out to find a place to die. Yet her appetite is good and she seems perky for an 18 year old cat. I wish it was more clearcut with her, like with Al.
Please keep us in your thoughts.
