I had to come off of the Seroquel because the medicine caused me to be pre-diabetic which I am now on medicine for, and my triglycerides went thru the roof. Coming off of the Seroquel was the worst withdrawals I have ever had. I went thru hell for over a month, several days I was lying on the couch shaking and then I would sweat and then be cold. This stuff is potent in my opinion. I will never go on this medicine again.

Two years ago I was put on high doses of Lithium and Seroquel and gained 150 lbs. I was taken off a year ago because I had high BP, high cholesterol and was also pre-diabetic. Since I've been off it I've adopted a super healthy lifestyle and had never felt more mentally and physically fit in my life. I'm 50, so that was huge for me. Although I'm glad I was taken off those meds they should have been replaced with something else because now the BP is out of control. I now have some options and I see my pdoc tomorrow and we'll discuss them because there is no way I'm going back to were I was but understand that I also need to get back on track mentally, so we'll see what we can come up with.
I was on Abilify for awhile and It just wasn't working for me and my family doc took me off it cold turkey, I went into a psychotic state because of it, so I can relate to your story and will never allow any doctor to take stop a psych med again without tapering it. Thank you for sharing
