Perhaps you've resolved this concern by now, Tesslynn84. But I noted that you wrote you're seeing a "counselor" as opposed to a "therapist". This made me wonder what type of professional you're seeing. I don't know how long you've been seeing this person, but I wonder if this is a person whose job it is to get clients back to work rather than to help them to learn ways to manage their mental health struggles.
This is just my personal opinion, but it seems to me that a counselor who is obsessed with you finding a job is not being very helpful if you're not also actively wanting to become employed. I would definitely have a frank discussion with him about this. And if he can't modify his approach, and the approach he's taking isn't working for you, then I'd suggest changing counselors, if possible. Best wishes...
