That is such a tough thing to do, my former T told him it was most important he gets in touch with what I was going through, he also called him immediately at hubby's job to inform him I was feeling suicidal, etc. a lot went down at that point.
I love hubby, and know him since I was 12 yo (I'm 50 now) but he escapes reality, big denial thing with him.
Here's an example, we got a call a couple yrs ago, his mom had to have open heart surgery, a.s.a.p., and his response when we hung up the phone, was to put on our head set and listen to a cd. And, I am the one in our home with a DX for a mental disorder??? Grrrrrrrrrrr! He is not good in these sort of situations, he runs into his little protective, fantasy world, verifies his "denial" of reality, not all of his fault, he grew up in this "Ozzie and Harriet" world where kids are not to learn the "real world", very bad deal, for such kids grow up to be non supportive, wimps, and will continue to hide their heads in the "protective" sand, but it's due to thelittle protective from reality world his parents created.
I apologize, I always digress, and try to not do that,But it happens.
Your husband needs to consult with your T,read up on this disorder, even go to support group meetings, to be of any help to you and himself. If he is like my hubby, and limits his time to learn a little of all of this, denies therapy for himself, then this can be a rough road.
My wish for you is that those around you in the 3D, are supportive, etc. but if not, be sure to follow through with pdocs and/or therapy, don't rely on those weak, others to help, for they can't even except this stuff, or their own stuff. Sadly, cause of that, we need to stand strong, even alone, but keep in mind you are worth it, and the hell with those that won't join you, for they are in as much as need of help or more, than you.
Okay, I'm rambling, of course, but put yourself first, see pdoc, get treatment, and always believe in yourself and know things are possible, YOU CAN GET better, there are great options.
Please, do not give up on yourself.
Take care,
DE
