Hi there
My 16 yr old daughter is v. intelligent and artistic. I know those aren't the criteria for autism, but she has always been a . sensitive girl.
She has more recently been talking about her difficulty with eye contact and difficulty with social situations.
She prefers her own company, but has a group of regular friends, who are similar.
She likes routine and can be very rigid.
A few years ago, she began writing lists of character names from books etc, in very small writing. Occasionally she will still do thos.
She is very thoughtful and perceptive.
A big problem is her terrible disorganisation, and forgetfulness.
Her grades are good, but I worry about the future when she will need to be more organised.
Also her brothe is dx with aspergers.

I know the forum can't diagnose, but any advice would be welcome. Girls often get missed for asd dx, and some professionals can be quite dismissive and make common mistakes in thinking that a person should fit certain rigid criteria, but it is often more complex.
I just want to help her.
