I read that Dexidrine, like most stimulants, can give you rebound depression when it leaves your system -- kind of like the depression some of us get the morning after an evening of drinking. I haven't heard of it being used to treat depression... but I'm not a doctor or a pharmacist... I'm a designer and a writer... so take whatever I say with many grains of salt. Maybe he thinks you have narcolepsy? It's sometimes used as a treatment for that.
