THERE IS NO PLACE FOR REGRETS IN THE SHADOW OF BIPOLAR DISORDER!!! Why blame yourselves for that of which you haven't any control?

Certainly, the heart attack victim may blame themselves for the catastropy in spite of the fact that it may have been brought on by genetic factors - but of what value is such self-destructive admonishment? It only causes pain and often blocks initial actions towards recovery.

In a similar way, the sufferer of bipolar disorder is naturally inclined to blame themselves for the harms they've caused themselves and others as a result of a decompensation episode - but to what end? Oh sure, the episode may have been caused by failure to take medication, but human beings naturally make mistakes - and a mistake does not define culpability for the result(s).

I accidently got my medications mixed up about one and a half years ago where I decompensated into manic-psychosis. A series of tragedies followed where I was made to suffer dire consequences after returning to normal. Nevertheless, I refuse to blame myself for anything. I have a crippling illness, and if that should cause me and/or others harm, then it's unfortunate but nothing more.

If you still insist on blaming yourselves and carrying the guilty, then at least learn to forgive yourselves.
Thanks for this!
