DBT does not work for everyone. It helped me deal with panic attacks but not with the bipolar problems. That therapist sounds too negative. I quit a therapy group due to one member constantly talking about how he was going to report members & have them "locked up." I quit another one b/c the therapist would rant & rant about some of his patients & he also kept threatening to have people "locked up."
You don't need to stay in any group that is negative or makes you feel bad! The best help for people with bipolar is one on one therapy, exercise (even just strolls in nature) and good medications. For now, that's what helps the best. I was diag. in 1996 & have been on good meds for over 15 years. My life isn't perfect but it is so much better than b4 meds.
