I had to quit Topamax because of itching & stabbing pain. The last try was Trileptal, which gave me side effects the 2nd day of diarrhea and giant farts (big enough to scare the cat, I kid you NOT!)

They always say those things will go away (eventually ), but after four days the diarrhea was the best part. I couldn't make myself take another pill.

The 2nd night on Trileptal, I lost all emotional response. I didn't care about anything. Didn't sleep, wouldn't go out even to throw out gar-barge

I've never felt so in danger. If I hadn't had people to call I would have taken a cab to the psych ER.

This morning I was still bad bad off ... but knowing it was the med & I had to wait it out was my mantra. I called pdoc's cell about 8 a.m. & we decided someone in the office would check in with me on my land line a lot today. Land line so I'd have to be home to answer.

Has anyone else taken this? Or had this reaction to any med? I'm in the mood now to never ever try anything new again. But I know I have to.
