You know we were in lab meeting today and the owner of my bosses journal this landes guys who owns a whole series of medical/scientific journals just sold them all she said he was originally in med school and dropped out because something just struck him wrong and he didn't want to do it. So he's super rich now and moving on from the 30 or so journals he owns to some new company involved in growing organs. I have no idea if it will work out but it seems that the people who are most successful don't always follow the flow. I mean think of all these tech entrepreneurs who dropped out of even college to start their businesses. The world is just not what it used to be and so I agree with you that it was brave to forge your own path...
