Based on the books and articles I have read, I think it is possible to stabilize, not cure, BP2. You can live healthily, and even go into periodic "remission", but it is possible that the symptoms will kick in again.

For BP2 I take trileptal, lexapro (doc might switch to Wellbutrin), and a melatonin-based sleep aide (clonazepam on a PRN basis). OTC supplements in my regimen: fish oil (omega-3 fatty acids) and vitamin B complex.

I also meditate, get mild/moderate exercise, dabble in DBT/CBT, and swim in the summer. My depression is mostly physical, not mental, so my university psychologist said that I don't really need psychotherapy, just a psychiatrist.
