Ok. First, I want you to be sure you are on the "waiting list." No reason not to be... Do you need to be signed up for a particular one or a group or what? How does this work, do you really know? If not, find out exactly.
Now, why not take the counselor while you can? I wouldn't pass up anything that might help along the way imo. Besides, the counselor might have resources for you that you don't have or know of now. Plus, the counselor might be able to help you find some alternative medicines or methods that will help you cope. Remember, all of our modern medicines still come from the basics of a plant somewhere.
I know you feel desperate... but catastrophizing will only make things feel worse. You don't need to feel any worse. You do need your energy to do good self care, imo... you have to. I think, well I know for me, it's feels crummy to have to be the only one "rescuing" yourself. Sometimes we have to do all that needs to be done, by ourselves.
You have us here at PC for support. BTW my GP, who also practices homeopathic medicine, treated me about the same way

It seems I have to show her all that I'm doing for myself before she really kicks in and helps me.
Can you tell us about how therapists haven't helped you in the past? How long did you see one, and what would you want from a T that you didn't get before?
