I always had clear skin all through high school and never once worried about acne. After going onto Lamotrigine at 18-19 years old my skin just exploded and I have struggled for the past 4.5 years to get it under control. I know this isn't a life threatening side effect but it truly affects my self esteem and relationships and if it is the meds and I have an opportunity to try something more beneficial I may just begin looking into other med options completely.

Try zinc methionine, 30 mg a day at bedtime. Your skin should clear up in two weeks, the zinc will also help with depression. Any form of zinc will work for the acne, but zinc mono-L-methionine sulfate (a/k/a
L-OptiZinc) is the best form to take for psychiatric needs.
