Please take my ideas with a grain of salt.
To me being in your house represents your body, looking out the window is you have opened your eyes to something. A cowboy represents a rich heritage of a code of hard work, respect, keeping emotions to yourself, having a cold drink to wash the dust off, be on the side of hero. You were wanting to emulate his coin toss but lacked a coin. Gold coin means a value or something of value. You both fear and desire to be like the hero of old. You are facing aspects in yourself that you value and are fearful where they may lead you.
I see this dream as very positive. Full of hope even though you were afraid. Yes, it is fearful to face ourselves, to be our own hard working, respectful, hero.
We use our dreams to play out emotions or activities we don't, won't, or may never do in life. You felt fear. You also wanted to emulate, see your value. You were brave enough to look out the window.
Perhaps you can now day dream that the cowboy leaves and you get up dress in your best gear (cowboy or western) and open your front door only to discover a gold coin on your front door mat shining up at you.
Oh and the coin toss means to me you are wanting to make a decision. Probably to be your own hero.
