Hi ! Let me start by saying I am NOT preaching ! I have an alcohol dependency myself and have been known to mix alcohol and a/d's ! It is however not wise as it could exacerbate the effects of the alcohol, you get drunk quicker and if you drink a lot, pass out ! (I've done it). I took Effexor a few years ago when my drinking was worse than now. (I do still drink). Also, drinking alcohol can cause a condition known as 'post-alcohol depression' the downer experienced after a few heavy sessions. It may stop the full benefit of the anti-depressant. If you want to drink try not to mix the two, leave a gap and have some food before you drink. I'm being a hypocrite here as I've done all the things I'm telling you not to !
