((((((silver_queen)))))) Thanks. Actually, I do have an instructor - since we got a smaller car, though, I've been practising in it with dad between lessons. I've got to try and pass my test before September, because that's when I go off to uni...I don't think it'd be easy to come back home every weekend to have a lesson! My friends learnt with an instructor for over a year - they passed their tests earlier this month. At first I was driving on very quiet streets around our town, and into new housing estates - lots of junctions, but not much traffic, and because of all the speedbumps they put in those places any traffic there was was going slowly. More recently I've been going to slightly larger towns and going into the centre of them, so I've been having encounters with traffic lights, roundabouts, dual carriageways...traffic lights are the worst. There was one time I was moving off from a set of them and stalled, and because it was on quite a steep hill I started hill I started rolling backwards and would have hit the car behind me if the instructor hadn't slammed the brakes on - it's a good thing that car has dual controls! I'm always nervous driving with dad because I know that if I mess up, there isn't really much he can do about it himself. That's great you've never crashed yet! That's a shame about your friend, though. Thanks. Like I said, I only have until September, really - after May, though, I've got four months holiday before I go off to uni...I'll probably end up going out practising for a lot of that time. Thanks again. I hate stalling at lights, though, because it means all the people behind me get held up as well - only once have I managed to restart the car and move off before the lights changed back to red. I did it again today...wasn't on a hill this time, though, luckily!
