LOL Travelinglady! I am learning about a lot of animal holidays! The President should make them official, and people should get the day off to celebrate! I love turtles, and have had four or five (including a baby sea turtle). Unfortunately, I don't know why (I was just a kid), we didn't have them for long. I know at least two, died; I had a box turtle (possibly two, but I can't remember) my brother had gotten for me out of "the wild" essentially, and my dad caught the sea turtle when he went fishing, but it couldn't survive in regular water...it needed salt water. I still see the last moments of the little one's life, weakly struggling to survive. I wish my dad had left it in the ocean. Sea turtles can live a couple hundred years, I think. Although, one of my (other) brothers' girlfriend's daughter visited and held my turtle, as well as my guinea pig (holding it on its back, which Charlie--that was his name--didn't like) on a different visit, and they both passed not long after that. I always wondered if it had anything to do with it, but that's probably my young mind wanting to blame someone.
