Personally it sounds like you made the right decision IMO. If it wasn't for you, you felt it, and that's why you left. It sounds like it wasn't giving you the experience you wanted in order to further a career in that field, and also it wasn't what you expected it to be when you got the job.

I've left quite a few jobs due to the stress of my social anxiety, and at first it was hard for people to understand that and kept thinking I was just lazy and didn't want to work. I hope your family is understanding. Just let them know that it really wasn't for you and that you wanted the opportunity to learn skills that would be applicable in the future.

If you don't wake up and at least in some way look forward to doing your job, that definitely has an effect on whether or not you will be happy with it. Take the time and find something that suits you, it's out there!
