Man accused of stabbing kids in Brooklyn elevator suffers from schizophrenia, suspected in other attacks - NY Daily News

So this guy was released from prison....he has sz and was in there for something clearly violent....he did his time and should be free but when they released him they gave him zero medication and said he wouldn't be able to see a doctor for a few weeks. Sadly he stabbed and killed several people including children. I know this will blow up as this terrible mental illness and look what happens etc but the truth of the matter is he was most likely suffering from the psychosis that occurs with rapid medication withdrawal. Because someone couldn't organize psych care/meds for him he's probably never going to see the outside world again...the system is setting people up to fail
