Tell your doctor. Maybe counseling would be a better approach than taking Zoloft or any medication, especially if your depression is relatively mild (e.g. non-suicidal). I was depressed for a while and have suffered from it on and off. Believe it or not, I am pretty sure mine was caused by a prescription medication. I basically took it and then a few weeks later started feeling like life sucked and that I was worthless. I never thought of anything suicidal, but I heard that some people were committed to mental institutions for suicide attempts while on this medication and the pharma company was sued numerous times for inducing severe and even suicidal depression in those it was prescribed to. The name of the medication was Singulair and I assure you it is bad stuff and don't take it. I have pretty much gotten over the problems that it created for me, but it took years. For a long time, I felt that no one really gave a crap about me and I just thought about giving up on everything. The stuff can bring you down big time. Medications can help some people, I am sure. I'm sure that many people were helped by the stuff I took which is ironically an asthma medication but sometimes the medications harm people either psychologically or physically. Use serious caution and investigate any drug you get prescribed. Since I am off of this medication, I have basically gotten over my depression and if I could prove what I experienced was caused by a bad medication I would definitely sue the pharma company and/or the doctor. Just remember, medications ARE drugs and just because a doctor gives them to you does not always mean they are safe. Some prescribed medications are about as safe as going out and smoking a heaping bowl of crack but the pharma companies pay off the doctors to prescribe them and they even pay off the government to make them look the other way. Just watch Sicko. Also, they even prescribe meth to people. Look up desoxyn. I almost got diagnosed with narcolepsy and the treatment for that is sometimes "prescription methamphetamine" or Desoxyn. Basically they give you just enough so that it does the job of keeping you up but doesn't make your teeth fall out. Of course, sometimes people take it and go berserk but that never gets reported because it would make big pharma look bad. My one friend even went a bit psychotic (slightly delusional, paranoid, and acting "crazy") for a few hours after taking Prozac that was prescribed to her by her doctor. Medications can help but if you think they are making your problems worse tell your doctor IMMIDIATELY.
Thanks for this!
