Saying just snap out if it or cheer up or you have a good upbringing why are you always down is the wrong things to be told but it happens to us all.
Depression is part of us embrace it and when you feel down and feel emotional stop watching the news as it's all depressing. Go help at a charity shop for a day for free or a soup kitchen and look at the things you have that others don't. It won't make it better but it gets you out the house.
Also exercise is good because you can get out yourself and forget others for an hour.
People don't understand what it's like and paranoia and worrying how people perceive you and being over sensitive to minor issues like others not returning texts etc is normal.
I used to cry out runs then breakdown because I couldn't find my car keys but meds help they really do but you have to stay strong.
Goodluck there's nothing wrong with crying it shows you are normal and at least you can admit it well done hope you get through this.
