I was watching this weight loss commercial the other day and I had an epiphany!
It had this success story, with a smiling person. At the bottom of the screen was this small type saying, “Results not typical.”
I asked the question, “What is the typical result?” I guess the typical results of most diets are, person loses a few pounds, quits the diet and puts it back on, maybe even more.
When someone wins their battle weight, it is a result of a total life change, not just going on a diet and doing nothing else.
Nicole, replace meth, ecstasy, and alcohol with food. Just quitting gets you clean for a while, But you haven’t changed anything about yourself, about who you are. Getting and staying clean and sober for any length of time and doing nothing but stopping falls under that “Results not typical” category. Most of us drink and drug because we have to, not because we want to. We change nothing about who we are, or what values we hold, and we have to go back.
Think larger… think about a total lifestyle change. Do the research Nicole, look at what other women like yourself have done, and which ones met with success. Then do what they did.
You know yourself that just stopping one of your poisons fixes nothing.
On the road to the good stuff,
Richard
