Asperger's is a real and separate diagnosis here as well because we use ICD as you do and it will not be updated for some years yet. But DSM that is used in America abolished all the subgroups of autism so now there is only Autism spectrum disorder there. Someone with Asperger's may or may not fit into ASD according to DSM. But as this is an American site I guess we go by their DX methods.
