I was diagnosed with bpd when I was about 18 or 19. I don't have too much of a problem telling people that I have anxiety problems, or even telling people that I am bipolar. (It's not something that I walk up to a stranger and tell, but if I get to know someone, and it is relevant, I am okay with telling). But I never tell people about a diagnosis of bpd. There are too many preconceptions. I work full-time, and am in my last year of graduate school to be a therapist. I don't think a lot of people would think that is possible of a 'borderline.' Unfortunately, I think with bpd, over a lot of other disorders-- people tend to forget that there are different levels of functioning. Anyway, welcome to the forum!
