I don't really like Dr. Phil and don't watch it but I just caught the end of it and they had this girl with severe anxiety and they were all talking to a doctor over their cell phones. There is this new thing called Doctors on Demand. If looks like it only has GP's but they can prescribe to you and give you referrals. It costs 40 bucks to talk to a doctor live on your phone.

For someone in crisis waiting two months to get in to see a pdoc this may be a good solution. Since pdocs charge 200 to 300 an hour it may be worth 40 bucks to talk to a GP for awhile to just get some guidance or even meds. They can prescribe right then and there. I am not usually for GP's prescribing psyche meds but if you are in crisis and have to wait two months to see a pdoc....well that is ridiculous.

I wonder if they have a similar thing for therapy. They should.
