I would recommend meditation. Easy to learn but hard to do. You have to keep at it and practice a lot.

For me it has really helped with practicing CBT. They are both all about awareness in the moment. The more you practice meditation which is about being present in the moment the more you will naturally be able to do that when you are not meditating. CBT is about noticing what you are thinking and feeling in the moment and intervening to change it. Meditation helps with that.

Just one suggestion that has helped me. I prefer sitting meditation and focusing on breath. Some people with anxiety say that makes their anxiety worse and they prefer mindfulness. Mindfulness is staying in the moment no matter what you are doing. Notice everything that is going on right now no matter what you are doing or not doing. This helps a great deal with self awareness.
