I'm about to ask my GP for a pdoc referral. Maybe this time I'll get somewhere, maybe not as my level of risk hasn't changed. If I was prepared to go private I could see someone tomorrow, but I can't afford £400 per consultation and being in England I don't have (shouldn't need) insurance. I looked into different options and found an online pdoc service, where consultations are via Skype and the cost is £100 per session. I'm thinking of asking my GP to go the local funding panel to see if they will pay for this as I'm entitled to a second opinion and it is a much cheaper option than even an NHS pdoc.
