What I to ask, in the thread, is how many people have seen & possibly worked on dead bodies & what if any effect they feel it has had on them. My reason for wanting to post this is because I have this in my background & I sometimes wonder what effect it may have had that I don't even realize. Thanks for your help!

interesting to say the least...I mean the post topic you want to discuss...
my question is that here in New York City USA the phrase... worked on ...can mean many different things...
like in preparing a body in a mortuary...
or some fetishes involve the dead or coldness/stillness like the dead
I wont go into detail about the other slang meanings of worked on around here...
but Im guessing if you mean the first one...that each person is affected differently so what ever and how ever you were affected is how you were affected. and to uncover anything that you may not be aware of...well that kind of thing would be a treatment providers job to help you with. like uncovering repressed emotions/memories and that kinds of stuff if thats what you mean...
in general those that I do know who work in mortuaries it doesnt affect them at all. here in NY working with the dead as in mortuary work is a chosen career, just like being a teacher is something someone chooses to do, or being a treatment provider is something a person chooses to do. So those I know that work in the mortuary business are not afraid/phobic of the dead or have any other mental disorders associated with death. they like the solitary life that it offers and like helping the community residents with their deceased persons last rites/last ride/last party what ever you want to call it.
my suggestion is if you work with the dead and it has affected you negatively maybe now is the time to stop doing that job and your treatment providers can help you work through what ever effects you are experiencing.
