I personally haven't heard anything on the news boards for psych meds but I personally have successfully been on Zyprexa 20mg nightly for 13 years since 2001 and since my disorder is Schizoaffective I have long swings from mania to depression - which I am suffering from now. I have lost the energy and motivation to do anything except make it to my part-time jobs doing landscaping and construction.

I do know that almost all the new anti-psychotics have side effects but for me the health state of my mind is more important than say getting diabetes. I have blood tests every six months and all is well. Have a frank and open discussion with your p-doc about what will work with your body chemistry... we are all different in handling these things.
