I originally applied for disability about two and a half years ago. It kept getting denied, and I finally got an attorney, and I had my hearing in august of last year. In November, I got "notice of unfavorable decision" which is basically a denial. We appealed it right away, but we are still waiting to hear back on that. Anyway, I had also tried to get temporary state disability, but I couldn't get it because of my daughters survivors benefits (I was told by SS that my daughters benefits would not affect my federal disability if I ever got it).

Anyway, we were supposed to get one more check last month for her, but they decided to cut it off one month early (they "decided"" her 18th b-day was earlier than it was). As soon as I realized we were done with that, I contacted the local DSHS and applied for ABD, which is temporary state disability. It took a while because of medical documents, etc, but I just found out today that I am approved! It's not as much as the federal, but at least its something.
