Don't they perhaps mean less emotionally responsive to someone else? Men are less emotional than women (at least apparently) and I know I am not a very emotional guy at all. I think that's one of the reasons people with AS aren't good at relationships, it's the lack of emotional expression. Most people dismiss me as just being uninterested in what they had to say, simply because it doesn't evoke that same emotional response or expression out of me that it would a normal person. Men are considered less emotionally expressive, and in terms of that I would say AS is definitely an amplified form of that.
