Maybe by not looking at your present status as either positive or negative but just what is. The saying "it is what it is". And then maybe visualizing how you want the current situation to change and the outcome. I understand you are saying you are not visualizing the outcomes in a realistic way but maybe with practice you can use it to your advantage.
