Yes, he does. I can tell because there seems to be certain items he does not want me to bake there. I will slowly make my way through his territorial side. I'll just come up with ideas and do them.
And also I have worked with several difficult people and it can get irritating; you just gotta keep your own decency and find your ways to cope around them.
I don't know if there was any better approach than speaking to the manager to get that message to him anyways.
