If you're feeling worried or anxious about it, I think it's absolutely fair game to bring up with your therapist... That said, I once had a therapist use that diagnosis with me too... they basically said the same thing! My understanding at the time is that it's *less* stigmatizing and less likely to cause problems in your medical record than other possible diagnoses... so it's an easy way to use a dx code that insurance will pay, but that won't require them to give too many personal details to the insurance company or cause you problems later on (with it being in your records)...
I could be wrong, but that was the impression I got.
