Yeah, it is sad that people can get their sick thrills by brining harm or torturing animals. Grrrrrrrr!
Just a little correction, pigeons are seed-feeders. When I worked at the The Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ, our pigeons from weeks after their hatching we were re-hab feeding with special little things we filled with "baby" pidgeon seed and nutrients, that had a cloth tip with a hole in for them to stick their little beaks and feed their hungry little crops.
Now, crows will eat newborn mice, small fish, crack peanut shells open and eat that, seed feed would be the last on their list unless that's all they could find. We'd get some horribly abused birds/raptors brought in to be saved, our re-habbers and vet worked their best to save them.
There were cases were idiots that painted plain pigeons to appear as white doves, to let go at weddings or various celebrations, some bagged and dumped in garbage dumpsters, geese suffering from poisoning, wild foul suffering from neuro damage from kinds of herbacides used mostly on golf courses. Certainly due to many birds ability to fly, most likely aren't victims of torture as other animals are.
It's very sad, and sad to see when they are brought in to be saved while being close to death, we all had crushed emotions when they were beyond saving.
I got off there for a moment, getting back to your post, I find it horrible people get a thrill filming abuse of animals, as I find those that participate in such sick behaviour.
Interesting post.
