I'm not making fun of you or your situation, but when I've been that excited over a car or our present house, I sort of chilled, and my husband too, and we both had buyer's remorse. LOL!!
We even had a salesman remark that we were no longer showing anymore excitement, we remarked, "reality kicked in, buyer's remorse, we just put out a lot of money"
I do not know what to tell you as far as work, except I think anyone having a major event in their lives, this happens too, and one doesn't have to have some disorder.
I think when one is happy or excited about something, people are too readily to say we are being "hypomanic" due to stigmas put on bipolars. We also need to learn and recognize and not deny ourselves from true happiness, in fear we are heading into an episode.
We can take that up with our pdocs just to help us know the differences. I'd hate to think us bipolars would start to deny ourselves of experience some thrills in life.
I guess it's just time and experience to know if we are heading into trouble or just experienc pure joy.
Because of my DX, I will hear remarks by hubby if I'm excited/real thrilled about something we purchased or did, one such as, "are you manic" ? Personally, and with reason, I resent hearing that, for he is always buying things, not me. LOL!! So, I tell him that I think he is the bipolar in our household, not me!! LOL!
Lots of luck and keep the speeding down.
