When emotional intimacy is formed, which I believe can be done through communication, in this case text messaging, it can lead to physical cheating as well.

Any time a spouse speaks to someone of the opposite sex about marital problems, it can lead to physical intimacy.

The media, TV shows, etc., is almost always giving off the message that something better is out there, when in fact it is not.
