I made another major mistake with my gross stupidity. I accidentally dropped a library book and it fell in a puddle. It's still readable, but the water damage is noticeable. I'll probably have to pay to replace it.
I really just want to turn it back in and hope no one will trace it back to me. I might look slightly more responsible if I point out the damage, but I'm afraid if I do that, they'll revoke my library card anyway because I've been so careless.
I'm not exactly the model patron. For one thing, I have over twenty books checked out right now, and the library might take it as a sign that I'm disorganized and unreliable. I'm supposed to check out one or two books at a time, read them, then go back and get more. But I keep seeing books I have to have now, and then I check out much more than I have time to read.
This is my favorite library. I can't believe I would ruin my chances of using it. Well actually I can, because it seems to be my style that I make everything in my life difficult with my stupidity.
